Auriel joined S&R in 1983 as Administrator of the Trillium Retirement Apartments in London. She recognized the benefits of supportive services for seniors in the community and was instrumental in assisting with the opening of facilities in Kitchener, Waterloo and Chatham.

In February 2000, Auriel took over the role as Manager of the Care Home Division and was responsible for the day to day operations, including strategic development and marketing, of 9 retirement residences in Southwestern Ontario

Although Auriel has many years experience in general management, she also has a solid background in counseling focusing on the advantages of group/team dynamics and has facilitated workshops on communication; assertiveness training; team building; as well as “relationship building & development”.

In August 2002, Auriel forged a newly created role as Relationship Specialist. She will continue to work within all areas of the corporation with a focus on communication and staff relationship development.
