Trillium Villa Nursing Home's management recently treated team members to lunch at a local food truck to thank them for their hard work and dedication to residents and each other.

The food truck – called Truckin' Mamas on the Run – showed up at the Sarnia long-term care community on June 9, and team members queued up to enjoy complimentary lunch items, including hot dogs, sausages, turkey burgers or a vegetarian option, all provided with a side of fries and a pop.

The 89 team members who were on hand “loved” the food and the generous portions, says Trillium Villa administrator Naomi Stevens.

Naomi adds that food is always a great way to bring people together.

“It’s always nice to see people come together, and food is a natural way to make that happen and celebrate,” she tells S&R Today.

Naomi says the Trillium Villa leadership team wanted to take a different approach to team member appreciation, and it was decided that providing a “food truck experience” would be the perfect way.

Looking ahead, Naomi says the leadership team is planning to host more food-related gatherings at least every other month.

“We are hopeful that this will help us continue to create a welcoming, inclusive and supportive work community,” she says.
