Spring wreath-making showcases creativity at Village on the Thames
Colourful, resident-made wreaths add seasonal flair across the Village

With the arrival of spring, residents of the Village on the Thames found creative inspiration in crafting seasonal wreaths.
In a program led by fun co-ordinator Danielle Whitmarsh that brought “a wonderful burst of creativity and colour,” residents of the Chatham-Kent seniors living community recently spent a day making the decorations, which were then hung on the outside of doors in every Village neighbourhood.
This added touch of colourful flair is noticeable throughout the Village, Danielle notes.
“Everyone had the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of vibrant seasonal colours,” she tells S&R Today. “Each resident designed their wreath to reflect their own personal style, making every creation truly unique.”
Danielle says the residents enjoyed spending the afternoon together, sharing ideas, laughter and creativity.
She adds that Village on the Thames has many creatively talented residents, and crafting the wreaths was a way for them to express their artistic nature.
“Each wreath turned out even more beautiful than imagined,” she says. “It was amazing to see the individuality and care that went into every piece.”
There was also a strong sense of pride among residents who participated in the activity, Danielle adds.
“The final results were stunning, and there was a real sense of pride and accomplishment throughout the group,” she says.
Given the success of the spring wreath crafting, Danielle says she plans to host a similar crafting day when autumn arrives.
“Everyone is already looking forward to doing it all again when fall arrives, with a whole new palette of autumn colours to explore,” she says.
